Hot pink activewear is not something I ever thought I’d find myself wearing, let alone loving. Yet, here we are…

Melbourne-based activewear brand Echt proved that Barbie Core is truly still alive and well, recently unveiling its much-anticipated spring 2024 collection, ‘Lovestruck.’ I was lucky enough to receive a set for review, and I’m hooked. The knockout colour instantly lifts my mood and the cosy softness is simply next level. Each piece is a dream to wear, making them great for high-intensity gym sessions, as well as slower days walking the dogs. Here’s what I tried on and exactly why I love these pieces for spring.

The Track Hoodie

This Track Hoodie has been perfect for chilly mornings at the dog park. I got it in Heather Grey, but there are plenty of other shades available. Its lining is unbelievably soft, so it has been just the trick for the transitional weather as we nudge our way into warmer months.

A standout feature is the high neck that can be moulded into a funnel shape when cold winds are biting at your face. The oversized silhouette brings a relaxed fit, which I love. You can comfortably layer thermals and other clothing under it for even cooler days, too.

I also love the muff-style pockets, which keep your hands warm when needed, as well as provide great dog treats storage.

Hot pink activewear Ultra Leggings

Snug, stretchy and unbelievably comfortable, the hot pink Ultra Leggings are a dream to wear. They sure make a statement, but they also keep you warm, they’re super snug and they move effortlessly with you, without bunching, gathering or folding at the waist, the latter of which is a pet peeve for me. They’re the kind of leggings you can wear to bed, too, for when you want to sleep in your activewear so you don’t have to change on chilly mornings. The moisture-wicking fabric is a blessing, especially if you’re layering for warmth but still need to stay dry.

My only gripe with these, which is no fault of Echt, is that they don’t repel pet hair. With three huskies, I really need a fabric that does this, or I risk looking like a yeti after an hour.

Affirm Puffer Vest

Lightweight but warm, the Affirm Puffer Vest is perfect for when you need to stay warm without feeling weighed down. I wore it to the dog park on a particularly foggy morning. Despite the misty weather, I still managed to stand out —  thanks to its high visibility. It’s also so easy to wear and its well-lined pockets easily fit all my essentials (phone, car keys, dog treats and poop bags).

I would have loved a zip-up front, but the buttons are secure and clasp easily without popping open. It reminded me that zippers in puffer jackets nearly always get caught, so the buttons are actually a blessing.

Hot pink activewear delivering high performance, high visibility and oh-so-high style

Echt has a stellar reputation for crafting high-performance gear. The Lovestruck collection cements this reputation but adds a flair for the bright and bold. Plus, it instantly lifts your mood and imbues a sense of self-confidence.
