We talk to Dr Anthony Yap from True Skin Cosmetic and Laser Clinic about this new breakthrough technology.
How does 3DEEP work?
Distributed by EndyMed, 3DEEP uses unique Radio Frequency (RF) technology to deliver full body skin tightening and body contouring. RF is an advanced technology that safely heats the collagen deep in the skin (dermis).
If sufficient energy is delivered, the collagen will contract, providing an immediate change in the skin’s appearance. The treatment also triggers a second process of new collagen production, leading to a significant change in skin appearance. RF penetrates deeper into the skin and it is not affected by skin colour, so it can essentially be used on all skin types.
“It is a safe, energy-based system that enables focused and contained deep energy delivery. A result of collagen remodelling is tighter, younger looking skin,” says Dr Yap.

What areas can be treated with 3DEEP?
The 3DEEP technology is efficient for most body areas. Different body areas require different energy parameters so 3DEEP has a variety of different applications, which are customised for various body areas, assuring the most effective treatments.
3DEEP can be used for multiple medical and aesthetic applications, including skin rejuvenation, skin tightening, acne scar treatment and body contouring.
“3DEEP is a non-invasive technology that delivers precise energy to target all treatment areas, whether it is to tighten lax skin, for wrinkle reduction, the improvement of acne scars, reducing body circumference and cellulite, or treatment of hyperhidrosis (excess underarm sweating),” says Dr Yap.
What happens during the treatment?
During the treatment, a handpiece is placed on the treatment area which gradually heats the skin. Depending on the size of the treatment area, treatment may take between 30-45 minutes. Treatment parameters are personalised according to body area and skin characteristics.
Most patients find the treatment very tolerable and there is minimal discomfort. You can return to work or usual activities about 30 minutes after treatment. Any minor skin swelling or redness will disappear within 2-3 hours after the treatment.
After two days, you may notice small microscopic crusts on your skin. These crusts are easily covered by makeup and will resolve naturally within 5-7 days after the treatment. Within one week after the treatment, your skin will show the benefits of a brighter and smoother appearance.
What are the results?
Depending on the type of treatment you select, significant improvement in your skin can usually be seen following the second treatment and additional improvement will gradually appear as the treatment course progresses.
“For optimal results a series of treatments, usually up to six, in intervals of one to two weeks is required,” says Dr Yap.
As new healthier collagen is formed, tighter, firmer skin will be produced. The gradual improvement in your skin will continue even after completion of the treatment series.
The improvement in skin quality should be long lasting, however proper skincare and sun protection will help to preserve the results.
