One of the things we love most about the beauty industry is its constant evolution. The technological advances we are seeing on what seems to be a daily basis are nothing short of incredible.

From heat-activated hair care (yes, you read that correctly) to 2-in-1 multi-tasking skincare, we can’t get enough of these products that have landed on our Beauty Desk this week.

Hair Rituel by Sisley La Crème 230 – transforming “flash drying” from styling into “flash repair”

What if heat, instead of damaging the hair, restored it? Well, that’s exactly the question raised, and answered, by the trailblazing team behind Hair Rituel by Sisley. The high-end range’s latest addition is La Crème 230.

This incredible no-rinse hair cream protects and restores the hair fibre leaving it nourished, silky and fully detangled. La Crème 230 has been formulated using Sisley’s latest innovation, the ‘230 complex’, a new thermoative technology that infuses restorative active ingredients into the heart of the hair fibre to protect and enhance it.

This technology draws on two ionic polymers that can actively repair under the effect of heat. It defends the hair against the repeated effects of heat up to 230°C, while also limiting the degradation of keratin, leading to a reduction in hair breakage and split ends.

Cetaphil launches new hype-free skincare

One of Australia’s most trusted skincare brands, Cetaphil, has today launched a new campaign for its range of face products that focuses on its product truth – hype-free skincare.

Proudly created by a pharmacist, Cetaphil has been a trusted brand in Australia since 1947, highly recommended by dermatologists and loved for being gentle enough on all skin types.

In the age of multi-step skincare routines and active ingredient overload, Cetaphil prides itself on being a trusted brand that has proudly been in Aussies bathroom cabinets for decades.

Cetaphil has launched a hilarious video dramatisation titled Cetaphil Influencer Protection Program that will roll out on social media and catch-up TV from today.

Leah Elder, Galderma Digital & eCommerce Lead, says, “The world of social media has influenced what we share so much. When it comes to skincare if it’s ‘not ideal for a #shelfie’ or hyped up, we’re less inclined to share it. Our HYPE-FREE campaign is a hilarious dramatisation of a fictitious influencer having to hide behind a pixel, voice warp and a protection program to conceal that it’s the trusted, humble brands like Cetaphil that may not make the YouTube glam table, but you always have in your actual cabinet or get recommended by your dermatologist. We hope to make people laugh, we hope our closet fans relate and we hope newbies get to know us a little more.”

DAVINES Great Barrier Reef Restoration initiative for the month of May

Essentials Duo Gift Packs from Davines highlights the brand’s collaboration with the Reef Restoration Foundation to help regenerate the Great Barrier Reef from coral bleaching and provides vital assistance to the Great Barrier Reef in an attempt to reverse the damage of global warming through the restoration of its ecosystem.

The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest coral reef, as well as a beloved Australian landmark that forms the core of our national identity, with its rich biodiversity it is no mystery that it is one of the seven wonders of the world. Unfortunately, the viability of this greatly diverse marine ecosystem is at risk due to rising sea temperatures, which is inducing mass coral bleaching across the reef. With bleaching amassing nearly half of the reef, it is crucial to preserve and protect this vibrant and remarkable landmark. The Reef Restoration Foundation is working to regenerate the reef in areas which have experienced large scale bleaching through replanting and nursing healthy corals in impacted areas.

For the month of May, Davines will be committing $2 from all sales of their reef gift pack duos to the foundation.

Gift pack duos feature a shampoo and conditioner from cult Essential ranges including LOVE; MINU; NOU NOU; MELU; MOMO and OI.
