Drop your beauty blenders and brushes, the secret to applying flawless foundation may actually be in your bra.
After the SiliSponge (from Hong Kong-based company Molly Cosmetics) went viral, every makeup fanatic on the Internet literally gave up their first-born child to get their hands on the silicone blender, and it swiftly sold out.
In order to duplicate the product, which looks like a silicone bra insert, big-name beauty vloggers are racking up millions of views using squishy ‘chicken fillets’ to apply their foundation.
Why silicone makeup sponges?
Seamless foundation is the ultimate beauty goal and beauty vloggers are finding the silicone sponge makes their makeup application flawless. While it has been suggested the regular bra insert works better over the ‘sticky’ insert, apparently the old ‘chicken fillet’ appears to have a heap of benefits:
1) It won’t soak in your foundation, highlighter or cream blush (yay, no more wasting products!)
2) Because of its smooth texture, it literally uses half the amount of product compared to using a brush or sponge.
3) It’s easy to clean. There’s no more effort than rinsing it under warm water and it’s good to use again, straight away. We love minimal effort!
4) It lasts waaay longer than a makeup sponge (which you are supposed to replace weekly…)
5) It’s hygienic and it is ideal for people who don’t like the whole messy fingers touching their face during makeup application.
So, new beauty hack? Move over beauty blenders, the boob blender may just catch on…
