What is Ultraformer III?
Ultraformer III, distributed by Cryomed, uses high intensity focused ultrasound technology to heat tissues at specific depths and address specific causes of facial ageing.
Ultraformer III can be used for a range of skin concerns including acne scarring, large pores and wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes and deep wrinkles on the cheeks and neck.
“Ultraformer uses a form of energy called Micro and Macro-Focused Ultrasound energy (MMFU) which heats different levels of the skin to stimulate collagen and create an immediate tightening effect,” says Dr Gupta.
Not only can Ultraformer III target facial ageing and repair sun damage, at more superficial levels it can also brighten and improve skin texture.
What’s involved in the treatment?
First off, a handpiece is placed on the treatment area where it delivers MMFU energy. Generally the handpiece will be left on the area for around 45 minutes to an hour.
There is minimal downtime involved (only mild tenderness, redness and very mild swelling) and clinical trials have reported that most patients find the treatment very tolerable.
“Ultraformer III is a quick and effective in-office treatment and our patients enjoy the no recovery or downtime associated with this treatment, with many coming in during their lunch hour,” says Dr Matulich.
Results?
Results can occur straightaway and will gradually improve up to 90 days post treatment. These results can be maintained for several months to a year afterwards, however some people may require a top-up treatment at the 3-month mark.
