Pomé Skin & Hair Wonder Serum

Pomé Skin & Hair Wonder SerumAh, beauty products. We love their smells, their pretty packaging and their magic beautifying properties, but there’s no hiding from the not-so-ignorable side effect of product obsession – overflowing cabinets.

No matter how skilled at Tetris a beauty fiend may be, fitting copious amounts of serums, cleansers and moisturisers into a very small storage space can cause a fit of frustration strong enough to induce a break-out.

On receiving the Pomé Skin & Hair Wonder Serum, images of effortlessly zipping up my toiletry bag swept through my mind like a 90’s movie montage. Mass beauty product consolidation started to feel like a tangible possibility.

The Pomé Skin & Hair Wonder Serum contains Pomegranate seed and Argan oil – two ingredients that seem to be in vogue for beauty products at the moment. Pomegranate seed oil is said to be a rich source of Omega-5, and Argan oil a rich source of Omega-6, packing a very nutritious punch for any dehydrated follicular surface.

On application to the skin, the texture felt slightly greasy – a pet peeve for many beauty lovers, including yours truly – but I was happy to see this fade very quickly and settle on the skin with a nice film of moisture. My skin did have to get used to the product; on the first day of use I saw a few rogue pimples on each cheek. This settled a day or two later and I found that the spots of dryness I usually experience during these colder months responded well. Funnily enough, my hands reaped the biggest rewards from this experience – the serum took the edge off my dry cuticles, knuckles and nails nicely.

As far as its effect on hair, using the serum on the ends of my wet strands after a shower cut brushing time in half. This is a big deal for me, as any girl with thick hair suffering from post-traumatic hair-brushing syndrome every evening will understand. When dried, the ends of my hair felt silky and smooth, and frizz was a no-show – a winning combo.

The verdict: An impressive little bottle indeed, highly recommended for beauties with minimal storage space.
