The Silver Sirens Community gathers together each year to reimagine ageing as an important, sacred part of being human and experience the profound bond and commonality that exists between women of the same age. You’ll hear extraordinary, accomplished speakers share their wit and soul nourishing wisdom.
This year combines the high voltage energy of the live event, at a blue ribbon position on the Sydney Harbour, with the global reach of online. Allowing women all over Australia, the UK, Europe, Scandinavia, India, Thailand and the USA to experience the stories of female disruptors, entrepreneurs and mavericks such as Latina airline captain, Lt Col Olga Custodio.
The 2021 theme: Redefining Ageing
In an era of radical change, when women are stepping out of the shadows to speak up, be heard and tackle issues like race, violence, harassment, gender inequality and homelessness; rethinking the status quo will be at the forefront of the day, from the speakers to the themes we are going to be tackling. The women of the world are ready.
For one powerful day, our Silver Sirens leaders will explore the pillars of enhanced living through the lens of the following topics.

What if the limited, constrictive confines of our own western cultural perspective are an illusion? - Ageism in the workplace
Are you being overlooked for certain jobs? Are your opinions no longer sought? We’ll hear how
other women have managed and triumphed over these scenarios. - Ageing in the public eye
What is it like to live out this most personal – and sometimes excruciating – emotional and physical reckoning under the kleig lights of public media attention and judgement? What if you are only getting better with age, but your professional core identity and demographic appeal is associated with youth?
The ultimate goal of Silver Sirens goes further than ‘acceptance’ of age. Our role is to awaken women to the glory of reaching 50 and beyond. As many of the obligations of career building, child rearing or proving oneself fall away, it is the time when women can ask themselves, who am I really? The quest to find authenticity, abundance, fulfilment and joy can truly begin. This is the time in their lives when many women start to ask themselves, if not now, when?

Silver Sirens Founder – Faith Agugu
As a trained psychotherapist with a Bachelor Degree in Social Science, Faith has helped hundreds of women at her Sydney-based practice, The Healing Process, to experience their ‘third age’ as a renaissance of self and true rebirth. Women often internalise cultural messages that warp our ideas of age into something to ignore or even fear, blinding us to our own accomplishments, sexiness and worth.
Faith’s vision to be of service to a wider audience has garnered an audience that doubles year on year, and national media attention, such as feature articles on Silver Sirens in Mindfood Magazine and The Guardian.
