Angelina Jolie has used her long association with Guerlain Paris through the MJP Foundation to help the people of Cambodia.
Angelina Jolie has set up a foundation in Cambodia in the name of her son Maddox. The MJP Foundation is committed to alleviating extreme rural poverty, protecting the environment and conserving wildlife.
As a long-time face of Guerlain Paris, as well as a muse, she approached Guerlain Paris to come to Cambodia and partner with her and UNESCO on a venture to train women to become bee keepers in Cambodia and to educate through schools about the importance of bees and their contribution to the environment as well as the economy.
Guerlain was already making its skin care range Abeille which has honey as an ingredient so this was a logical partnership. A percentage of sales from Hulle-en-Eau Abeille Royale are donated to the cause. The Guerlain/UNESCO Women for Bees programme supports female entrepreneurs as well as helping to address the threat to the bee population. So successful is that Partnership between Angelina, UNESCO and Guerlain Paris that it has been launched in other countries including China, Rwanda and Ethiopia and this year will launch in the Amazon region.
World bee day is celebrated in May which has found Angelina speaking at one of the Guerlain Bee Schools.
