New sleep mask mimics the effects of anti-wrinkle injections

JUST LAUNCHED IN AUSTRALIA! CurrentBody, a leader in beauty tech and known globally for their game-changing LED face mask, has collaborated with leading London cosmetic doctor Dr Steve Harris to launch the Dr Harris anti-wrinkle sleep mask.

With over 20 years of medical experience, and having administered more than 40,000 anti-wrinkle procedures, Dr Harris has unparalleled insight into what makes anti-wrinkle injections so effective – and how the results could potentially be replicated by other means.

The Dr Harris Mask is much anticipated – six years in the making, it’s a revolutionary, first-of-its-kind silicone eye mask that mimics the effects of anti-wrinkle injections. In short, it promises to be an absolute game-changer and could very well challenge the anti-wrinkle injectables market.

What makes the CurrentBody Dr Harris Mask so revolutionary?

The silicone eye mask is an anti-wrinkle eye mask that employs small raised silicone dots to effectively reduce glabellar (frown lines between the eyes) lines while promoting emotional relaxation. Working to target dynamic wrinkles (those created by expressions such as frowning or smiling), the raised silicone dots on the mask stimulate pressure points on the face that calm brain activity, causing muscles to relax and emotions to calm.

For the science geeks, the raised silicone dots have been shown to stimulate facial sensory receptors in the superficial layers of the skin (mechanoreceptors), which in turn signal the brain to reduce sympathetic activity.

The result is a reduction in facial muscle tone (improving overlying facial lines) and, as demonstrated by a study in Prime Journal. (see more below), improved feelings of emotional relaxation.

Study shows Dr Harris Mask significantly improves look of frown lines and promotes emotional relaxation

In a controlled comparative study between the Dr Harris silicone eye mask versus a regular eye mask, the silicone eye mask significantly improved the appearance of glabellar lines after 15 minutes in comparison to the regular eye mask, with comparable benefits at around 5 hours. The former also showed a greater tendency toward emotional relaxation.

The clinical trials evidenced the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles by a massive 64% on average, just 15 minutes of wear gives visible results that can last up to 5 hours.

Dr Harris said of the product launch, “I am thrilled to partner with CurrentBody, the global leaders in beauty tech, to launch my sleep mask. I first came up with the concept back in 2014 but it took meeting the experts at CurrentBody to bring my vision to life. CurrentBody’s ability to translate my idea into an efficacious product is a dream come true.”

A limited first drop of the Dr Harris mask is available now. RRP $165. Available exclusively from www.currentbody.com.au

Australians early adopters of beauty tech

With at-home beauty sales surging throughout the pandemic, CurrentBody took a look at which cities in Australia were investing the most in beauty. The numbers reveal that Sydney came out on top, followed by Melbourne and Brisbane, with the NSW Central Coast also in the top ten most beauty-conscious areas in the country.

Australia’s top 10 most beauty-conscious areas

  1. Sydney, NSW
  2. Melbourne, Vic
  3. Brisbane, Qld
  4. Perth, WA
  5. Adelaide, SA
  6. Canberra, ACT
  7. Gold Coast, Qld
  8. Hobart, Tas
  9. Central Coast, NSW
  10. Launceston, Tas

The statistics also show that Australian beauty consumers are early adopters, technologically advanced and eager to get their hands on the newest beauty tech. As many of us are still predominantly WFH, beauty devices that are clinically proven and salon quality are becoming the preferred choice due to their practicality as well as ensured hygiene and safety.

CurrentBody is known globally for its multi-award winning LED Light Therapy Mask and is the world’s only at-home beauty device expert with a range of highly effective cleansing, hair removal and anti-aging beauty devices available from the website.
