With a theme like Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination, this year’s Met Gala ball was bound to grab the public’s attention. And from both a fashion and beauty perspective, the event, which is now in its 70th year, did not disappoint.
With Vogue’s legendary editor-in-chief Anna Wintour at the helm, celebrated figures from the art, design and entertainment worlds took to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s red carpet on May 8 to display an array of styles, some of which were as polarising as the theme itself.
When it came to makeup, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Lily Collins and Stella Maxwell looked beyond angelic with their flawless complexions and unique styles, but, for many, Amal Clooney’s red lip and champagne eye combo was the most covetable look of the night.
It will come as no surprise to beauty lovers that the woman behind Mrs Clooney’s makeup was the fairy godmother of glamour herself, Charlotte Tilbury.
And, much to the delight of fans, the British makeup artist and entrepreneur took to Instagram after the event to share the products she used on Amal with her 1.9 million followers.
