Minimal makeup, luminious cheeks, well-hedged brows and the timeless red lippy have taken over the runways of 2015 fashion shows. The fresh, ‘untouched’ look has never been so in – with loose, flowing hair or pulled back ponytails framing natural makeup and barefaced beauty. Here, we bring you a guide to makeup in 2015 and help formulate your beauty resolutions for the year ahead.
Eyes
Pantone has announced Marsala as the “colour of 2015” and earthy browns such as ochre, chocolate, taupe and tan are being partnered with bold, black lower-lid liner to create a smudgy, morning-after eye.
Brows
This year, expect more conservative brows than the thick, unruly look of 2014. Big is still best, but opt for beautifully tamed arches, shaped perfectly to the face. If you’re blessed with naturally thick brows, try brushing them straight up then smoothing them over. If you don’t have so much to play with, add ‘perfect eye brow penciling’ to your list of new years’ resolutions!
Dewy cheeks
The art of ‘no makeup’ makeup is harder that it sounds. Perfecting the fresh, natural, untouched look requires some subtle emphasise on your strong points – brows, eyes, lips and checks.
By adding a touch of pearlescent powder to bare, cleansed cheeks, your complexion will be granted an instant, well-placed gloss and supermodel bone structure. Partner this with sweeping black mascara, boldly shaped brows and a dash of red lippy to achieve the natural, untouched (well almost!) look of 2015.
