Following in second is the Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink range with 132,994 posts. Said to last up to 12 hours with no-transfer or smudge, and with a range of colours from reds, pinks and nudes, it’s a clear staple in many people’s makeup collection.
In third is the talk of 2015 – Kylie Jenner’s Lip Kits with 131,453 tags on Instagram. Reviewed and worn by makeup gurus such as NikkieTutorials, Jeffrey Stars and Carli Bybel, the range has received the seal of approval by some of the biggest names in the makeup industry.
NARS Cosmetics Complete the Top 10:
Costing more than many of its successors at an average price of $22.00, TooFaced Melted Lipstick slides into ninth place with 18,439 hashtags. The range offers bright and bold colours, everyday nudes and also striking reds. This is followed by Nars Cosmetics’ Audacious range with 16,295 hashtags. After being on the market for almost 7 years, it shows old really is gold!
So how were they chosen?
Showerstoyou.co.uk sought to determine the most popular lipstick ranges on Instagram by analysing their hashtag volumes. By using quality in-house metrics, they created a seed list of the best and most iconic lipsticks and using total hashtag and hashtag variant counts, they were then ranked.
