US skincare brand Epicutis has officially arrived at the Heavenly Spa at The Westin Brisbane, marking its first luxury spa presence in Australia.
Developed by US biotech company Signum Biosciences, Epicutis has built its reputation around science-led, minimal-ingredient formulations designed to support overall skin health rather than simply target surface-level concerns.
Dr Eduardo ‘Eddie’ Perez, molecular microbiologist and Chief Scientific Officer of Signum Biosciences, was on hand to share insight into the brand’s scientific foundations and research-driven approach. Speaking at the Brisbane launch, he described Epicutis as representing ‘a new paradigm in skincare’, with a focus on overall skin health rather than traditional anti-ageing concepts.
Epicutis develops its ingredients in-house, utilising over 20 years of R&D experience to create truly novel products that focus on minimalist formulations featuring high concentrations of patented active ingredients. Epicutis is designed to deliver results without overwhelming the skin, using 100 percent non-toxic ingredients in luxuriously simple formulations. Such is the brand’s reputation that other skincare companies are using Signum for ingredient development.
Globally, Epicutis is stocked in select Westin Hotels & Resorts locations as well as St. Regis Hotels & Resorts spas, reinforcing its position within the premium wellness space.

Inside The Westin Brisbane’s Heavenly Spa
The Westin Brisbane Heavenly Spa is beautifully designed with an atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed as soon as you walk through the door. The treatment rooms overlook the pool so from your treatment bed you can see glistening water and hear gentle music in the background. Amanda, the spa’s director, has run some of the world’s leading hotel spa and she brings with her not only deep knowledge but a calm and welcoming presence.
What sets Epicutis apart is its ability to sit comfortably in both spa and clinical environments. (To attest to this, it is also stocked in some of the top cosmetic enhancement clinics globally.) While it’s unusual for a skincare brand to span both, Epicutis’ formulations are designed to be gentle while still delivering meaningful skin benefits. The products work across the epidermis and into the upper dermis to help support repair processes, reduce inflammation and restore healthy skin function.
Developed by a team of microphysicists and microbiologists, the formulations prioritise minimal, non-toxic ingredients while supporting skin barrier function and microbiome integrity. This also makes the range particularly well suited for use alongside aesthetic treatments, where supporting post-procedure recovery, including post-treatment inflammation, is key.
The collection remains intentionally streamlined, featuring an Oil Cleanser, Enzyme Exfoliating Powder, Lipid Serum, Hyvia Cream®, Arctigenin Brightening Treatment and Lipid Body Treatment.
Epicutis’ arrival at The Westin Brisbane reflects a broader movement towards biotech-driven skincare, where clinical credibility, ingredient transparency and luxury experience come together in a single setting.
