Dyson introduces its second formulations haircare range, the Dyson Omega™ nourishing range. Combining 13 years of agricultural expertise with 12 years of hair science research, Dyson engineers have looked to high-quality ingredients to help solve the problem of dry hair.
Powered by a unique blend of seven omega-rich oils, including sunflower oil harvested from Dyson’s own farms in Lincolnshire, UK, the range is comprised of a hydrating hair oil, which boosts and restores hair, and a leave-in conditioning spray that nourishes and detangles to deliver instant and long-lasting nourishment for all hair types.
From Farm to Formulations
“We’ve brought together two completely different worlds – farming and beauty – to develop a product that unlocks healthy hair with quality ingredients.
12 years ago, Dyson went into the Beauty world because we saw a real problem that needed solving. By investing in research and deeply understanding the science of hair, we discovered ways in which our technology could radically improve hair health. Leaps in innovation – such as our motor, heater and airflow technology – allowed us to revolutionise haircare products and achieve step-changes in performance.
Meanwhile, in an entirely different field, we have spent over a decade experimenting and investing in precision farming. It’s a passion and in the process, I became very interested in how the farms could pioneer ingredient-led beauty products that aid hair health.

Dyson Farming was established in 2012, and is Britain’s largest farming business, with 36,000 acres of working land – that’s about the size of 20,000 football fields or over 100,000 Olympic swimming pools. Dyson Farming is a top five producer of wheat grains, malting barley, oil seeds and potatoes in the UK. More recently, expanding its crop portfolio to include sunflowers for the Dyson Omega™ range, the farm’s nine-hectare sunflower field is home to over 800,000 sunflowers, with some growing as tall as 6 feet.
Sunflowers weren’t chosen for their looks, but for their unique chemistry: sunflower oil is rich in essential fatty acids, particularly omegas 6 and 9, which help to deeply moisturise the hair, smooth the cuticle and reduce frizz. Thanks to its lightweight molecular structure, the oil absorbs quickly into the hair shaft without accumulating build-up.
The Dyson Farming team implemented a number of strategies to ensure the harvested seeds contain an optimal balance of beneficial compounds, from trialling over 60 varieties of sunflower to identify those richest in natural ceramides and conducting regular soil testing, micronutrient balancing and crop walks once the seeds were planted.

Hydrating Hair Oil
A silicone-free, concentrated oil that conditions, smooths and provides a protective moisture seal for softer, more manageable hair.

How to use:
Apply to dry or damp hair with your hands, distributing it evenly through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair.
Leave-in conditioning spray
An 8-in-1 multitasker that nourishes, detangles, smooths, reduces frizz, protects from heat and UV damage, minimises breakage and moisturises hair.
Key features:
- Provides the cuticles with a protective seal to lock in moisture and improve hair combability.
- Nourishes and restores dry, brittle, fragile hair with the Dyson Oli7TM blend. Contains seven omega-rich oils, including Dyson Farming sunflower oil.
- Enriched with antioxidants and carefully selected ingredients for protection against UV and heat damage, while reducing breakage.
- Infused with Panthenol to strengthen hair.
- Lightweight spray mechanism designed for even, controlled coverage on wet and dry hair.
How to use:
Spray onto wet or dry hair and distribute evenly using hands, a brush or a comb.
