L’Oréal Australia employees celebrated their personal pride story as part of the 2020 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras. The joy and freedom of being part of this iconic event highlighted how important an inclusive and supporting workplace environment is to employees.

‘I’ve never experienced anything so powerful and overwhelming than being part of this year’s Mardi Gras with L’Oréal Australia. It was a mind-blowing experience!’ says Cris Alessi, Store Design Lead, Consumer Products Division.

L’Oréal’s global mission is ‘Beauty for All’, supporting and encouraging everyone to express themselves, on their own terms. Makeup and the queer community have a long-standing relationship, with cosmetics being used as both a tool of self-expression and, for some, an armour.

This year’s 2020 Mardi Gras included 12,500 participants in the parade, with 200 communities and corporations involved, a flotilla of 100 floats and celebrated by almost 500,000 spectators.
