Are you an aesthetics industry professional who wants your voice heard, your rights advocated and to be part of a united front that authentically represents you and your industry? Then it’s time to create the change you want to see in the professional beauty industry by joining ABIC, the Aesthetic and Beauty Industry Council.

Launched in 2020, ABIC, a not-for-profit industry association, is committed to being the representative voice for every segment and individual within the professional beauty. And what better way to make their in-person debut than at the opening of Beauty Expo Australia, held on 20-21 August.

In collaboration between Phorest Salon Software and Reed Exhibitions, the Aesthetic and Beauty Industry Council showed up in full force with not one but two activations.

Hosted by dynamic duo Council Member and Director of Education for the International Dermal Institute Emma Hobson, and CEO of ABIC and Dermalist, Stefanie Milla, the exclusive members-only networking event kicked off the weekend spectacularly on Friday night at Café Del Mar overlooking Cockle Bay Wharf at Darling Harbour. Made possible with thanks to Phorest Salon Software, the 300+ room of attendees were introduced to the ABIC Council Members, Gay Wardle, Karla McDiarmid, Keira Malony, Maria Enna-Cocciolone, Matt Williams, Reika Roberts and Tamara Reid, before indulging in an awe-inspiring showcase of fireworks, accompanied by the buzz of conversation and cheersing of in-person conversation which was so missed due to the last few years of distancing.

ABIC’s debut appearance at Beauty Expo Australia was a resounding success thanks to their members-only lounge area which included meet and greets as well as private access to food and beverage and exclusive time made available with the ABIC Council Members, Supplier Members and team. Networking conversations with like-minded business owners, as well as featuring a space for rest and relaxation, was just what a busy day of shopping and speaking needed.

“Connection and conversation are at the heart of everything we do at the Aesthetic and Beauty Industry Council, and by attending and exhibiting at the expo it gave us the ability to do that in our own unique way, while continuing to support the incredible industry initiatives that our industry offers like Beauty Expo Australia,” says Stefanie Milla, CEO of ABIC
