After a busy start to 2013, the body, mind and skin can feel exhausted and lack-lustre heading into the second half of the year. This week’s latest and greatest brings you four new products to cleanse, brighten and refresh your skin.

Clearasil Vitamins & Extracts Daily Wash; RRP $10.99;

The key in shrinking pore sizes, brightening the complexion and warding off pimples lies in regular cleansing with active ingredients. As part of their ‘Picture Perfect’ campaign, Clearasil has launched their new Vitamins & Extracts range.

The range, designed for daily use, is formulated with fruit extracts to condition and revitalise the skin. Suitable for all skin types, the line’s key product, Clearasil Vitamins & Extracts Daily Wash, is scientifically formulated and dermatologically approved. Alongside the purifying fruit extracts, the Daily Scrub contains glycerine to improve skin hydration and works to remove impurities and prevent breakouts.

ASAP Super A+ SerumASAP Super A+ Serum; RRP $89;

Affording enhanced absorption and heightened delivery of active ingredients; serums are an important step in any skincare regime. Ordinarily, serums should be applied directly after cleansing and should contain high concentrations of anti-ageing, hydrating ingredients. ASAP skincare has recently introduced a new, cutting-edge serum designed to fight the signs of ageing, resurface and rehydrate the skin and enhance the renewal of new skin cells.

The Super A+ Serum contains high strength Vitamin A, or retinol, which is effective incombating the signs of ageing. This vitamin A is partnered with a hyaluronic acid to attract moisture to the site, hydrating and smoothing the skin’s surface. Between them, these ingredients accelerate the skin’s renewal processes and visibly reduce the appearance of pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles. With skin health taken care of, the Super A+ Serum also contains white tea and vitamin E to protect the skin against further damage.

Gatineau Renew 7 Detox Serum;

For those aged 25 years or older, who are experiencing tired and devitalised skin, a stronger course of serum is sometimes required. Gatineau’s 7-day intensive treatment uses a powerful detoxifying action to illuminate your skin and boost the effectiveness of your daily skincare creams. The seven-day course of Gatineau’s Renew 7 Detox Serum, used instead of your regular serum, will leave your skin fresh, aerated and detoxified.

How it works:
Candida Saitoana; This is a yeast used to ensure the protection and preservation of fruits after their harvest. In cosmetics, Candida Saitoana strengthens cell detoxification by ridding the body of oxidised free radicals and converting cellular waste into nutritive elements.

Mother of pearl and apple extract: Boosting skin health for a radiant complexion, these ingredients act as a ‘peel’ for the skin. Working both chemically and enzymatically, they afford gentle exfoliation, stimulate cell renewal and smooth skin.

Vitamin C: With anti-oxidant capacities, Vitamin C protects skin cells and reduces the damage caused by oxidative stress. This brightens the complexion and de-stresses the skin.

Hyaluronic acid: Known for it’s ability to hydrate the skin, hyaluronic acid, alongside glycol derivatives and sweet almond oil, nourishes, moisturises and protects the skin.

Olay RegeneristOlay Regenerist; RRP from $15.99 to $49.99;

With 20% more anti-ageing ingredients, Olays’s regenerist range uses Cellular bioenergetics to combat skin cell fatigue and fight the signs of ageing. The idea stems from research that revealed a significant decline in the energy levels of skin cells between the ages of 20 and 60, as Olay research and development expert, Murali Sampath explains.

“In the past decade, science has witnessed a revolution in the field of cellular bioenergetics – the processes by which cells produce and consume energy,” Sampath says. “Our research reveals that cells simply don’t have the functioning metabolism required to fully respond to anti-ageing treatments. This leads to a slowed response to anti-ageing treatments and visual skin improvement.”

In introducing a range filled with high concentrations of active ingredients, Olay Regenerist specifically targets the power houses in skin cells, boosting aged cells’ ability to produce energy and respond to stress. Using the ingredients Niacinamide, Pal-KTTKS and Olivem, Olay Regenerist helps renew skin cells and affords improvement in the appearance of fine lines, enlarged pores and skin texture.
