July 14 is Bastille Day and we’re getting in early on the celebrations (any excuse to eat le fromage and baguette!). While plans to rendezvous in Paris may be on hold due to the pandemic, there’s no passport required to enjoy a little French savoir faire with some of our favourite decadently French beauty products.

Très chic French beauty buys

Sisley Paris Le Phyto-Rouge

There’s an inherent “Frenchness” to the classic red lip, perhaps because it’s long been a French-girl staple. This classic red from French skincare and cosmetics house Sisley Paris, delivers a long lasting and hydrating lipstick with skincare to provide a balm-like sensation. To amp up the French factor, apply straight from the tube and then blot, blot, blot. What’s more, the bevelled edges act almost like a lip liner. Available in 20 shades (pictured in 41 Rouge Miami).

Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque

We also added champagne to the mix, because what could be more fabulously French than champagne? One of France’s most historic and distinctive champagne houses, Perrier-Jouët, has one of the finest. Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque has become something of an icon; the original Belle Epoque cuvée, was the first to be adorned with Emile Gallé’s legendary spray of Japanese white anemones. Crafted only in years when the seasons have aligned perfectly, Belle Epoque is a captivating demonstration of not only the art of timely blending but also the distinctive pedigree of the Perrier-Jouët vineyard. A testament to the rarity of this cuvée, less than 30 vintages of Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque have been produced to date.
