No7 may be a familiar name in beauty aisles today, but the brand’s story actually stretches back nearly a century.
The iconic British beauty brand was first launched in 1935 by Florence Boot in the United Kingdom. Florence, who was also a director of the Boots pharmacy and wellness chain, had a clear vision: to create luxurious, high-performing beauty products that were accessible and affordable for everyday women.
At a time when beauty was often considered a luxury, Florence believed everyone should have access to innovative skincare and cosmetics. She was also passionate about ensuring Boots stores stocked the latest developments in beauty and wellbeing. That forward-thinking philosophy quickly paid off. The original No7 launch included just 11 skincare products, but they proved an instant success with customers.
Fast forward to today and the brand has grown into a global beauty powerhouse. Following the formation of the Walgreens Boots Alliance, the company has continued to invest heavily in research, innovation and product development. No7 products are now available in more than 120,000 stores across 29 markets worldwide.
Skincare science meets everyday beauty
Innovation remains at the heart of the brand. While No7 has long been known for its skincare, the brand is increasingly focused on creating makeup products that deliver both cosmetic and skincare benefits – products designed not only to help you look good, but to help care for your skin at the same time.
Recent additions to the makeup range include the No7 Pro Artist Soft Glow Cream Bronzer ($38.99), which delivers a natural-looking warmth to the complexion, and the Pro Artist Base Perfecting Primer ($38.99), designed to smooth the skin and create an ideal base for makeup.
The No7 Pro Artist Luxe Liquid Blush ($29.88), available in a variety of shades, adds a fresh flush of colour while maintaining a lightweight, blendable finish. Meanwhile, the No7 Pro Artist Eye Palette ($32.99), also offered in multiple colour options, allows for both subtle everyday looks and more defined evening styles.
Of course, skincare remains central to the No7 philosophy. The brand has developed a number of well-known skincare collections designed to target specific concerns, including No7 Radiance+ Vitamin C, No7 Menopause Skincare, Protect & Perfect, Lift & Luminate and HydraLuminous+.
One of the brand’s newest innovations is the No7 Future Renew range, which reflects the company’s continued focus on advanced skincare science. Key products in the line include the No7 Future Renew Serum ($67.99) and the Future Renew Night Cream ($67.99), both formulated to support skin renewal and improve the appearance of ageing.
Behind the scenes, No7’s research and development teams continue to explore new technologies and ingredients aimed at creating the next generation of skincare and cosmetics.
Nearly 90 years after its launch, Florence Boot’s original vision remains central to the brand: innovative beauty products that combine science, performance and accessibility, making effective skincare and makeup available to everyone.
