Found: The Aussie Haircare brand with real solutions for thinning hair

Solutions for thinning hair are akin to the Holy Grail — almost impossible to find. That was until St. Louis Says landed on beauty shelves and hair salons around the country.

Thanks to a fun little combo of perimenopause, stress and my previously sub-par haircare and styling products and tools, my hair has fallen out faster than I’ve been able to hide the evidence. I’ve tried pretty much all the solutions for thinning hair I could find. From doctor-prescribed treatments to desperation grabs in the supermarket hair aisle, 2025 has thus far been one long hair fail.

To make matters worse, I accidentally scorched a few strands with a far-too-hot hairdryer so the bald spot I’ve been sporting became blindingly obvious to all. My confidence has thinned faster than my hair.

Enter, St. Louis Says…

This Australian-made haircare brand, formulated and produced on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland’s sunshine-soaked coast, actually seemed to make a difference from the very first wash.

I started with Almighty Volume Thickening Shampoo and Almighty Volume Thickening Conditioner. Beautiful packaging aside, the textures are like liquid silk. They smooth through the hair with ease and lather without stripping. The scent is a soft citrus whisper that’s delightful without being overpowering.

My hair felt smoother, shinier and more controllable that day, and it was so much easier to blow dry and style. I’m a few weeks in now and I’m totally hooked. Sure, my hair’s still thin (thank you, hormones), but with the support of a new medication my GP has me on, and St. Louis Says in my shower, my strands are finally bouncing back. I can see the strength returning. I can feel the softness. And, dare I say it, I’m starting to enjoy doing my hair again.

Solutions for thinning hair that actually seem to work

Firstly, it is so gentle and nurturing on stressed strands. And it’s thanks to a formula that is really thoughtfully put together to support scalp health and boost shine, strength, and manageability.

  • Amaranth Extract increases the diameter of each hair strand. This creates the illusion of fullness without weighing it down.
  • Hydrolysed Rice Protein lifts and energises fine, limp hair by charging strands to boost volume and bounce.
  • Panthenol smooths rough, dry shafts and increases softness and manageability. This is crucial when your hair is weakened by hormonal changes, like mine.
  • Piroctone Olamine and Salicylic Acid help maintain scalp health by balancing oil, unclogging follicles and reducing irritation. That creates a better environment for stronger hair to grow.
  • Quinoa Seed Extract helps fortify brittle strands with a complete amino acid profile. It locks in hydration, protects follicles from breakage and adds shine.

About the brand

Founded by Adrian Mezzina and Tim Persley, St. Louis Says was created for people who want results but don’t want to compromise on values. Each product is vegan, cruelty-free, SLS-free, paraben-free and made right here in Australia at their new Sunshine Coast production facility.
